Brush Fire in Prince George County Contained by Fire Crews

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. — A brush fire in Prince George County was quickly brought under control on Sunday afternoon after fire crews responded to the scene on Uhrich Lane.

Just before 1 p.m. on March 2, emergency services were alerted to a report of a rapidly spreading brush fire in the 11300 block of Uhrich Lane. Upon arrival, the first fire crews on the scene discovered a large and fast-moving fire threatening to spread further.

The Prince George County Fire and EMS Department deployed multiple brush trucks and tankers to contain the blaze and prevent it from reaching nearby homes and buildings. Despite the fire’s rapid spread, crews were able to act swiftly, bringing the situation under control without any reported injuries.

Officials are reminding residents that Virginia is currently under a burn ban, which is in effect from February 15 through April 30. During this period, outdoor burning is prohibited before 4 p.m. within 300 feet of woodland, brushland, or fields. The ban is intended to reduce the risk of wildfires during the state’s dry season.

Firefighters urge the community to remain vigilant and follow all burn regulations to help prevent future incidents.
